Edna K. Dunlap, 97, formally of East Toledo, passed away at Whitehouse Country Manor, Whitehouse, Ohio, on Saturday, March 12, 2005. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 9, 1908, to Henry and Dorthea (Aufderheide) Dayton. Edna worked as a telephone operator for Bingham Stamping. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Stella Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Women of the Church at St. Mark, and Children Services at Lutheran Social Services. Edna was also an avid card player.
Surviving are her nephew, Jay Dayton; niece, Joann Longnecker; brother-in-law, Robert Dunlap; sisters-in-law, Wanda Smith and Ruth Walley. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Boyd; sister, Elma Smith; brothers, Lawrence and William Dayton.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Monday, March 14, 2005, from 4-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Port Clinton Lakeview Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions in Edna's name be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or the favorite charity of the donor's choice.
