Obituary

Edna Helen Catherine Mary Dombi Mrs. Edna Helen Catherine Mary Dombi, age 86, passed away peacefully at the Perrysburg NW Ohio Hospice on February 20, 2010. Edna was born in Toledo, Ohio to Edwin and Catherine (Trompeter) Seeburger on November 9, 1923. She was a loving mother and raised 4 children with her husband William, to whom she was married on September 1, 1956. Edna was a life long resident of Toledo, graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1941, and proudly served in the Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946. She had a strong service oriented work ethic and worked for Owens Illinois, Medical College of Ohio, Greenfield Health Systems, Toledo Museum of Art, and Toledo Public Schools and was a passionate volunteer at the Luther Home of Mercy. Her favorite pastimes were family centered; spoiling her 3 grandchildren, supporting her daughter at the Luther Home of Mercy, and traveling to visit her children. Surviving Edna are her children, Mary Patricia Dombi at Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, OH, Joseph Dombi and wife, Janice of San Francisco CA, Karen (Dombi) Agricola and husband, Doug of Westchester OH, and Matthew Dombi and wife, Laurie of Oregon OH; grandchildren, Zachary and Lucas Agricola of Westchester OH and Nicholas Dombi of Oregon OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, her parents, brothers, Lawrence and Edwin, and sister, Florence. Family and friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 8:15 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, OH 43468-0187 Edna's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Mercy St. Vincent's Hospital, and the Northwest Ohio Hospice at Perrysburg for their expert and compassionate care.
