Edna M, Rae, 95, a long time resident of Northwood, Ohio, passed away at her home on April 14, 2017 with her loved ones by her side. Born on May 20, 1921 to Louis and Minnie (Ruby) Reno in Toledo, Ohio. Edna was the 5th of six children who are all united again in heaven. Edna worked in the cafeteria at Northwood High School for 25 years before her retirement. Edna enjoyed having her garage sales, wintering in Florida with her husband Art and going to the casino. Edna was a selfless woman who cared deeply for others, especially her family. She took great pride in making her house a home for her children. Edna is survived by her sons, Robert (Janet) Shepherd, Edward (Karen) Shepherd, Michael (Sandy) Shepherd; daughter Darla Vancena; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Chris, Mark, Terry, Brian and Janet Rae, Carol Singleton, Maureen Georgevich, Mary Jo Kern, Angela Riddel; 22 step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and special niece, Sharon Stickler. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; son-in-law, Skip Vancena; and 5 siblings. Family and friends may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Edna's name may be directed to Ohio Living Hospice, Toledo Chapter.
