Edward Casares, 78, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2003 in
his home. Eddie was born in Houston Texas on October 13, 1924 to Celso and Marie
Casares. Mr. Casares was a US Navy veteran of World War II serving as a gunner's mate
on the US Guadalupe. On April 3, 1946 he married Mary C. Castilleja. Edward was first
employed at the Ohio Lime Plant but would later retire from Chrysler Corporation after
24 years of service. He was a member of Toledo Restoration Church and the Genoa
American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; children, Joseph, Gerald and Linda Casares; half sister,
Alice Jesse; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents; sons, James and Leo; grandson, Marcos Casares.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley
Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd. Millbury, Ohio where
visitation will be from 2 to 9 pm on Sunday. Interment will be in Clay Township
Cemetery.
