Edward Victor Johnston, 77, of Oregon, Ohio passed away with his wife present Wednesday, August 30,
2023 at home. Edward was born September 2, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Samuel and Jenny
(Podkidek) Johnston. Ed developed the value of working hard throughout his teenage years and
graduated from Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio.
Ed was employed by Industrial Molasses through the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority in Toledo,
Ohio. He then went onto work for Coulton Chemical, Marsulex Environmental Technologies and
Chemtrade Refinery Solutions on Otter Creek Road, in Oregon, Ohio as a chemical engineer and welder

motivated, focused, giving and easy-going. Above anything, he believed in work ethics and was such a
hard worker his entire life. Ed awoke very early daily and was always the first employee at work. He had
a passion for keeping busy and even remodeled their beautiful home and landscaped their yard. In Ed's
spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing on his boat, especially with his
buddies; nephew, Nicholas and son-in-law, Anthony, deer hunting and attending the annual Old Car
Festival at Greenfield Village. He also enjoyed coming home from work and drinking an ice-cold
Budweiser and watching NASCAR and old classic black and white television shows.
