Edward N. Garcia, 68, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born in Findlay, Ohio on November 8, 1953. In his earlier years, Eddie was an avid boxer, winning the Golden Gloves in 1977 and fighting in the Ohio State Fair at 19 years old. He worked at Chrysler-Jeep for over 30 years before retiring. He was currently working at Kuka. Eddie was a big Cleveland Browns fan. He had a passion for photography, volunteering at church and coaching boxing. He took great pride in helping the less fortunate, always willing and wanting to help those in need. What was most important to Eddie was his faith and his family, especially his grandchildren. His family will miss him deeply but forever hold tight those memories they shared together.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Nellie (Willie) Robinson, Lei-Lana (Todd) Kimble, Edward (Kel-ci) Garcia, Jesse (Amy) Garcia, Marty (Kory) Doss; step-son, Joseph Danko; grandchildren, Thomas, Troy, Tobias, Tyra, Tyson, Kaisley, Keegan, Gabriel, Emiliano, Mateo, Jesse, Kailin, David, Carl, Aaliyah, Ashlynn, Brittany, Christopher, Caleb, Noah, Maya; 3 great-grandchildren, Natalie, Lena, Naomi and 2 on the way; siblings, Rose Bowlick, Lenore (Howard) Osenbaugh, Handrea (Dave) Fischer, Ramona Gomez and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy; brother, Marcos Garcia and step-son, Matthew Danko.
Family and friends may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in Eddie's name may be directed to One Hope Church. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the family asks that those attending visitation and funeral services to wear a mask.
