Edward Hack, Jr., 80, of Toledo, OH, passed away February 23, 2004, in Fairview Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Toledo, OH, on May 23, 1923, to Edward and Charlotte (West) Hack. Edward was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He had been employed as a crane operator at Sennet Steel, Textile Leather and Lake Steel, retiring in 1988. Edward was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, the VFW Post #2510 Legion and a member of the Cooties.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann; daughter, Mary Frances Shaffer; grandchildren, Heidi L. and Jennifer A. Hack, Christopher and Julie Shaffer; 7 great-grandchildren and sister, Wynetta "Sis" Johnson. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward L., and sister, Sharon Drouillard.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH, on Thursday, from 2-9 p.m. with VFW Post 2510 services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Willow Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Edward's memory can be made to Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
