Edward "Ed" Lawrence Hoover, 67, of Perrysburg, Ohio was called home to the Lord on March 22, 2022, after year's long battle with Dementia. Ed was born on June 14, 1954, to Richard and Marilyn Hoover of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and was the eldest of 5 children. Ed attended high school at Brother Rice and went on to graduate from General Motors Institute (now known as Kettering University) with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He then earned his MBA from Wayne State University. Ed dedicated his entire career to the automotive industry serving over 40 years in the field. It should come as no surprise that Ed loved cars, especially Corvettes and Jeeps. He loved to watch the Tigers play and rooted for Michigan State but, being a hockey player himself, he particularly loved the Red Wings. Ed is survived by his wife, Dawn, of nearly 45 years and their three children, Shaun (Sabrina), Casey (Jane), and Quinn (Nick). One of Ed's greatest blessings were his grandchildren who gave him so much joy: Will, Nora, Jack, DJ, Maybelline, Colton, Owen, and Levi. Ed is also survived by his brothers Tom and Jim, and sister Chris as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed was strong in his Catholic faith, and we take comfort knowing he was met in heaven by those who preceded him, his parents and infant brother, Paul. We are further comforted by picturing him in heaven in a freshly detailed black Corvette with the windows down and classic rock playing. Crank it up, Ed! We love you! Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 29 at 11:00 am in St. John XXIII, 24250 Dixie Highway, Perrysburg where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Inurnment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to be made in his memory.
