Edward S. 'œPete' Kury, 82, of Oregon, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 15, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Samuel and Victoria (Raszjski) Kury. Ed served in the US Army occupation force from 1946 to 1949. On October 18, 1954, he married Matilda Waldman. He was employed with Dohler Jarvis until 1960. In 1960, he began working for Toledo Edison as a Stationary Engineer and retired in 1990 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and military history. Pete had a kind soul and never had a foul word to say. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Pete is survived by his children; Beverly Cousino, Willard (Florence) Shears, Fred (Beverly) Kraemer Lawrence (Margo) Shears, and Norma Guiher; 15 grandchildren, many beloved great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 nieces, 3 nephews, and many loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Matilda, an infant son and sisters, Mary Roginski and Bernice Polcyn
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Willow Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor'™s choice. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements. 'œTrix has had her puppies'.
