Edward H. Rutter, 89, of east Toledo, OH, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on October 23, 1915, to Ferdinand and Julianna Rutter. After Ed's mother passed away in 1918, he was then raised by his father and stepmother, Anna. Ed was a glass worker at LOF in east Toledo for 42 years retiring in 1978. He also was a life long member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Ed loved fishing, gardening, inventing and was considered a master of all trades.
Surviving are his sons, Jerry (Norma) of N. Chicago, IL and Robert (Connie) Rutter of Toledo, OH; daughter, Sandra (Roger) Jones of Perrysburg, OH; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Anna, brothers, Fred and Carly, great-granddaughter, Norma-Jean.
Friends and family may visit at Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 106 W. Plumer Street, Toledo, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Ed's memory can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
