Edward "Ed" Schiavone, 81, of Oregon Ohio passed away on June 8, 2021 at St. Charles Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 10, 1940 to Albert and Angela (Pirolli) Schiavone. Ed was a graduate of Waite High School, where he played football for their dominant teams of the 1950's. He worked for Columbia Gas for 37 years, before retiring in 1995. During his retirement, he was the founder and CEO of Ed's Mowing. He enjoyed camping, traveling to Florida, collecting ball caps, enjoying the outdoors, watching his granddaughters play ball and spending time with his family. He was also a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joanne; children, Todd (Dawn) Schiavone and Lori (Bob) Kennedy; grandchildren, Lindsay and Hayley Schiavone; and sisters, Pat (Mike) Bollman and Angie (Mike) Werner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Timothy Schiavone. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH. on Saturday, June 12 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will be held afterwards. Details for the luncheon will be displayed during the visitation. Memorial contributions in Ed's name can be directed to St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital.
