Edward Junior Schwierking, 79, of Oregon, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 17, 2005, surrounded by his family in St. Charles Mercy Hospital with Heartland Hospice. He was born September 22, 1926, to Edward and Anna (Zunk) Schwierking in Williston, OH, and was the youngest of seven children. He was an Army veteran of WWII and worked as a boilermaker most of his life with Local 85 in Rossford, OH. His life hobbies that he shared with his family included hunting, fishing, gardening, taking care of his farm animals and pets, playing cards, and watching his favorite football team, The Ohio State Buckeyes. Edward also was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church and the VFW Post #9816.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn (Ory); children, Kathy (Warren) Priest, Raymond (Dorothy) Schwierking, Rod Schwierking, Clint (Pat) Schwierking, Mark (Marcia Pirrwitz) Schwierking, Connie (Rick) Gross, Robin (Joe) Kovesdi, Keith (Rose) Schwierking, Beth (Tod) Donley and Kim (John Roth) Schwierking. Edward is also survived by his 27 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, with whom he greatly enjoyed sharing his life experiences.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Sunday from 1-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 12 Noon with interment to follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. Expressions of sympathy in Edward's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. Edward's family would like to thank the nursing staff at St. Charles Mercy Hospital and send a special thanks to the team at Heartland Hospice, especially Jody and Michelle.
