Edward Sheets, 80, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perryburg. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Lois (Champion) Sheets on September 4, 1935. Edward went on to obtain his Journeymans card as a sheet metal worker where he joined Local 33 and finished his career as an estimator for East Side Sheet Metal Company. He worked for 40 years before his retirement in 1995 and has been a member of the Union for 60 years. Edward married the love of his life, Carole (Boardman) Sheets on September 3, 1955. He attended New Harvest Christian Church, Seaside United Methodist Church and was a Mason for over 40 years. Edward was an avid football fan, loved golf and gardening. He enjoyed spending his winters with his wife in North Carolina. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carole; sons, Bradley ( Nancy) Sheets, David (Kelly) Sheets, Alan Sheets, Craig (Cathy) Sheets; sister, Linda (Dwuane) Seimet; grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Kristi, John, Saige, Sarah and Rebecca. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Sheets and sister, Marlene Fuller. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
