Edward J. Wingenroth Jr., 78, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his home. Ed was born in Erie, Pennsylvania November 11, 1942 to Edward and Lenora (Fletcher) Wingenroth Sr. For over 40 years, Ed worked as a quality control specialist for various firms; traveling extensively to South Korea, Germany and Switzerland. He was an avid collector of antiques and enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles. Ed enjoyed attending local classic car shows, reading a good Tom Clancy novel and listening to classic rock & roll music. Ed will be remembered fondly for his love of history, being a true patriot and enjoying a meaningful conversation with those around him.
Ed is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lisa; children, Edward J. Wingenroth III, Catherine Wingenroth, and Sarah (Darrell) Brandenburg; grandchildren, Jessica, Adrienne, Jordan, and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Shyla and Andrew; sisters, Diane and Debbie; along with many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and pit-bull, Max.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Ed's family wishes to thank the staff of Promedica Toledo Hospital along with the Oregon Fire & Rescue Department for their loving care of Ed over the years. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Ed's family to divide among his favorite charities.
