Eileen Ruth Baer, 83, of Van Buren Township, MI, formerly of Oregon, OH and Las Vegas, NV passed away March 17, 2008 in her daughters home after a lengthy illness. She had recently moved to the Canton area to be closer to her daughter, Connie Swinney. Eileen was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 5, 1924 to Rex and Florence (Ennis) Hoot. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading, and was an accomplished seamstress; but the center of her heart belonged to her family and many friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Connie; son, Randy (Patricia) Baer; brothers, Frank (Mary) Hoot and Jerry (Betty) Hoot; sisters, Joyce McKenzie and Beverly Levis; grandchildren, Michele Baer, Stacy (Rob Long) Baer and Ira Lee (Georgia) Swinney Jr.; 3 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Etta Hoot and many dear friends. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Baer, step-sons, Robert and Richard Baer and brother, Gene Hoot.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Friday from 2 until 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2008 in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with interment following in Restlawn Memorial Park.
