Eileen Rose Takacs East passed away peacefully after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Her loving husband of 40 years, Donald J. East Jr. survives her.
Eileen was a soft spoken, beautiful woman who endured much during these challenging times. She remained light hearted and showed tremendous strength throughout her illness. Eileen cherished her family and her faith. She was a long-time member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish while still living in Toledo. She loved to cook Hungarian food and play bingo, with great strategy and winning often! She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Libbey Owens Ford for 28 years. After retirement, Eileen and Don made a wonderful home in Cocoa, Florida where they welcomed family and friends to visit, enjoy the warm weather and all the area had to offer.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents John L. and Helen (Sebok) Takacs, brother John L. Jr., sister Vera May Banko, brothers in law Edward Banko and Louis Tinta, sister-in-law Carmen Takacs.
Surviving to cherish Eileen's memory are her husband Don, children Jeff Wilson (Carolyn Oberhaus), Denise and Geoff Krueger, Todd Wilson, Jim East (Angela Lopez) Jay and Julie East. Her sisters Evelyn Tinta, Marilyn Takacs and brother Joe Takacs, along with twelve grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 11 from 2 - 8 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH. Where her funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 10 a.m., with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
