Elaine G. Willis, 81, of Walbridge, OH passed away Saturday February 16, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born in Toledo on September 12, 1926 to Gus and Velma (Schultz) Ellis. Elaine was employed for over 30 years with Ohio Bell, AT&T, Ameritech and SBC retiring in 1984 as an apparatus technician and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Elaine spent her summers on Catawba Island where she also was a founding member of the Pink Ladies. The ladies enjoyed celebrating life. She also enjoyed counted cross stitching, jigsaw puzzles and playing slot machines.
Surviving are her children, Robert (Lisa) Willis of Temperance, MI and Carol (Jeff) Pickerel of Oregon, OH; grandchildren, Shelly (Pat) Lesniewski, Amy (Brian) Muir, Jenny Konst, Todd Ausmus, Jamie Pickerel, Joseph and Robert (Julie) Habbouche; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great- great- grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert (Ikie) Willis; sister-in-law, Betty Willis and dear friends, Joan Fox and Kay Gosa. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald in 2006 and sister, Berniece Shepherd.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 am with interment following in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Elaines memory may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or a charity of the donors choice.
