Eldred "Al" Marchal, 76, passed away January 29, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, OH on June 6, 1931 to Eldred and Gertrude Marchal. Al enlisted and served his country in the U.S. Air Force where he flew 35 missions as a Turret Gunner on B-26s. He was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High School where he was an All-State Basketball, All-City Football and Track athlete. Later, Al was inducted into Central Catholics Athletic Hall of Fame. He worked as a glass worker at Libbey Owens Ford for 32 years, where he retired in 1973. Al married the love of his life, Kathryn Dayton on July 10, 1954 at Good Shepherd Church in Toledo. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, dancing and especially fishing with his family and friends. Al was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends for whom he always had a smile and a hello.
Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Kathryn; children, Dennis (Christine) Marchal, John (Lori) Marchal, Theresa (Manuel) Reyes; grandchildren, Sylvia, Monica and Samantha. Al was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were private. Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, assisted the family with arrangements.
