Obituary

Eleanor A. (Kovach) Nagy, 89, passed away at Orchard Villa, Oregon, OH on May 10, 2005. She was born in Toledo, OH on October 2, 1915 and grew up in Birmingham, attending St. Stephen and Waite High Schools. Eleanor was a devoted life-long member of St. Stephen Church and past president of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also past president of the Birmingham VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She managed the dress shirt department at Tiedtke's in the late 1950's. Her many talents included singing, playing the organ, sewing, making ceramics, writing stories and poems. One poem was published in the Verdant Lands of Spring National Library of Poems, National Society of Poets, 1998. But her greatest joy was her family, especially the children for whom she wrote the stories and poems. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, John (Ace) Nagy, parents, Simon and Anna Kovach, brother, Ernest and sister, Rosemary Bourgeois. She will be sadly missed but remembered by her daughters, Judith (Bill) Besgrove, Barbara (Bob) Pompos; grandchildren, Deborah (Mike) Madson, Dora (Mike) Lewis, Michelle (Rich) Losey, GYSGT Anthony (Michelle) Pompos; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Heather Neagley, Sean, Shelby and Missy Madson, Nicholas, Jillian, Jennifer and Jessica Lewis, Ian, Megan, Gillian Losey and Tysen Pompos, and 10 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Elmer Kovacs, Robert Kovach, Richard (Judi) Kovach, sisters, Louise (Ray) Neifer, Kathleen (Eddie) Goetz and sister-in-law, Anne Kolibar. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. on Friday from 2-9 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and VFW services at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Catholic Church where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Eleanor's memory can be made to St. Stephen Church. Visitation: Visitation Times Friday, 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Oregon Chapel
