Elias 'œBud' Jude Jr. of Toledo, Ohio passed away on May 12, 2013 at Promedica Bay Park Hospital. Bud was born on November 15, 1930 to Elias and Maude (Bowen) Jude Sr. On January 21, 1950 he married the love of his life Barbara (Rosenbrook). Bud served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 11th airborne during the Korean War where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. He worked at LOF for 37 years before retiring in 1989. Bud loved playing cards, horseshoes, and especially spending time with his family up at their cottage on Posey Lake for the last 40 years. He was also an avid Notre Dame fan. Bud was a devoted father, husband grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will truly be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years; children, Michelle (Phillip) Anello, Ronald Jude, Donald (Jackie) Jude, Kathleen (James) Okonski, David (Christine) Jude, Lori (Robert) Maraugha, Kerri (Tim) Hulls; brother Bill Spaulding; sister, Betty Jane Evans, Ruth Henson; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Michael; brother, Edward Jude, Thomas Spaulding; and sisters, Mary Marie Toeppe, and Virginia Cremeans.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday May 15, 2013 from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday May 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks to his granddaughter Angie for her daily care at home and to all the nurses who cared for Bud during his many stays at Bay Park Hospital.
