Elinor (Koch) Ehrsam, 98, of Dublin, Ohio (formerly of Toledo) passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing. She was born February 23, 1918 in Toledo, Ohio to the late John and Sophia (Kuhlman) Koch.
Elinor graduated from Waite High School and later married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Ehrsam. She was an active member of First St. John Lutheran Church for sixty-five years, a member of Chippewa Golf Club, and a charter member of Spade and Trowel Garden Club. Elinor was an avid bowler, golfer, gardener, and creative flower arranger. She was an excellent cook and her chocolate chip cookies and Holiday meals are legendary!
In addition to her parents, Elinor was preceded in death by Jerry, her husband of 69 years, and brothers, Harold, Erwin, and Kenneth Koch. She is survived by her son, Dr. Gerald (Linda) Ehrsam; daughters, Carol Sue Brownfield, Cathy (Kevin) Martin; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Elinor was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She will be dearly missed.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service. The funeral will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Street, Toledo, Ohio. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
