Elizabeth "Betty" A. Porter, 73, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away December 16, 2010 at Regency Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1937 to Joseph and Agnes Casey. Betty loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed baking, cooking and doing craft projects. Betty loved winter. She and her family spent many happy times snowmobiling in Grayling, MI. Betty will be most remembered for her delicious Jigs dinners she prepared every St. Patty's Day. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; sons, Michael (Tiffany) and Mark (Dar Black) Porter; sister, Pat Thomas; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Mildred and John Porter; sisters, Mary Sheehy and Kathleen Casey-Carrol; brother, James (Ellen) Casey. Betty had been a loving caregiver to all the family members who preceded her in death. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Betty's memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association . The family extends special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of the SICU and MICU departments at the University of Toledo Medical Center for their wonderful care and concern. Also, many thanks to all Betty's family and friends for their support over the past few months.
