Elizabeth Nagy, 94, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa, Ohio. Betty as known to her family and friends was born on October 14, 1922 in Hungary to Stefan and Kristina (Roth) Breitenstein. Moving with her family from Hungary, when she was 8 years old, they lived in Canada. Her parents where tobacco farmers and she also helped on the farm. Betty's only sibling, Stefan passed away before his first birthday. Betty married Louis Nagy on January 28, 1950. Prior to his death in 1996, he and Betty owned a hotel in east Toledo and farmed in the Curtice area. Betty was a member of Calvin United Church of Christ, where she made noodles with other church members for many years.
Surviving are her sons, Louis and George (Kim); grandson, Steven (Whitney); great granddaughter, Violet.
Private family services were this week at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel and interment at North Oregon Cemetery. A public Memorial Service Saturday August 26, 2017 at 11:00am at Calvin United Church of Christ (1961 Bakewell St. Toledo) with a luncheon afterwards.
