Elizabeth M. Sofalvi, 91, of Oregon, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Elizabeth was born in Toledo on July 5, 1918 to Joseph and Anna (Hollo) Torok. She was the widow of John Sofalvi who preceded her in death in 2009. Elizabeth worked as a production worker at Owens Brush Company for 10 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for over 40 years in the gift shop at St. Charles Hospital where she received an award for her length of service. Elizabeth was an avid bowler, bowling in 3 leagues weekly for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo and gardening and watching women's golf, ice skating and baseball. Surviving are her daughter, Beverly Angel; son, John K. (Beth) Sofalvi; brother-in-law, Joseph (Matilda) Sofalvi; grandchildren, Doug (Julie) Angel, Linda (Jim) Voutsas, Lori Angel, Michelle (Dave) Bryan, John A. Sofalvi and Christine (Rick) Greulich; 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great - great - grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Anna, Joe and Alex Torok.
Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Elizabeth's memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to thank Dr. M. Bernardo and his nurses, Priscilla and Bonnie, along with the staff of Genoa Care Center, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their kind and loving care
