Elizabeth M. Van Horn, 94, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Betty was born in Rossford, Ohio on March 26, 1923 to Bert and Helen (Nemeth) Vargo. On December 15, 1944, she married the love of her life Aubrey Van Horn, while he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. Betty worked as a cashier at Kroger and later managed the Fannie Farmer Candy Store at Southwyck Mall. She was an avid card and Yahtzee player and enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her children, Glenn (Darla) Van Horn and Patricia (Rick) King; grandchildren, Doug Van Horn, David (Darcy) Van Horn, Eric King and Lindsay (Mike) Bolser; great-grandchildren, Katie, Jack, Joe, Thomas, and Olivia; brother, Robert Vargo; step-grandchildren, Ken (Chris) Cousino, Jeanette (John) Hrovatich, Rebecca Remer and Howard Cousino; along with 9 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; siblings, Ann Vaughn, Goldie Harr, Julia Murray, William Vargo, and Margaret Vargo; and great-granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Van Horn. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Williston Cemetery.
