Ellen "Ellie Mae" McKenzie, 74, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at ProMedica Bay Park Hospital. Ellen was born on September 1, 1951, in Oregon, Ohio, to Oscar and Hilda (Pederson) Harris.

On November 8, 1969, she married the love of her life, Edgar McKenzie, in Toledo. Ellen was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and keeping her yard looking beautiful. She had a strong work ethic and found satisfaction in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family.

Ellen had a special fondness and loved the companionship of her beloved dogs, Bella and Birdie, who brought her endless joy. She also enjoyed fishing, traveling and appreciated life's simple pleasures. Ellen will be remembered for her kind heart, her dedication to her family, and the pride she took in the home and life she shared with those she loved.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Shawn McKenzie; and her brothers, Glenn, Gerald, and Wayne Harris; and several nieces and nephews.

Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar McKenzie; her parents; her sister, Linda Kosch; her brothers, Danny, Marvin, and Ervin Harris; and her daughter-in-law, Lori McKenzie.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
