Elmer William Moenter, 79, of Oregon, Ohio passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 23, 2006 in his residence. Elmer was born in Woodville, Ohio on September 15, 1926 to William John and Helena Clara (Schuermann) Moenter. Elmer was a graduate of Woodville High School and he received his Electrical Engineering degree from University of Toledo in 1952. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Elmer had worked for General Electric for 37 years as an installation and service electrical engineer. He was a member of the honorary fraternity, Tau Beta Pi. Elmer was also a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his children, Sandra (Tom) Huss, Barry (Ramona) Moenter; grandchildren, Katie Huss, Eric Moenter, Sarah Moenter; sisters, Rachel Colvin and Oma Langenderfer. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyn, son, Kevin, brothers Milton, Herman, Glenn and sister, Corinne Sanders..
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Sunday from 2-8 p.m and where his funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Elmer's memory are asked to consider the Solomon Lutheran Church School or the Luther Home of Mercy or Lutheran Home Association of Toledo.
