Emery L. "Inky" Kolibar, of Oregon, OH, passed away February 23, 2004, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Toledo, OH to Edward and Anna (Drotar) Kolibar on June 2, 1911. He was a graduate of St. Stephen School, St. John Jesuit High School and St. John Jesuit College. Emery was employed by Toledo Edison as an electrical appliance promoter for 40 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, where he was a Catechism teacher. Emery was co-founder of the Birmingham Hall of Fame and sports editor for the Toledo Hungarian Paper.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Bertha M., whom he married in St. Michael's Byzantine Church; son, Emery W. Kolibar, Los Angeles, CA; daughter, Barbara A. Lafferty, Oregon, OH; sister, Anna Rose McKie, Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Amy (Joe) Herman, Monclova, OH, Dana Lafferty, Cincinnati, OH and Mark Lafferty, Louisiana and 2 great-grandchildren, Audrey and Alex Herman. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gizella Raitz and brother, Ernest Kolibar.
Family and friends may visit at Kinsey Funeral Home, Birmingham Chapel, 2001 Consaul Street, Toledo, OH on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 9:45 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Emery's memory can be made to St. John's Jesuit School or St. Stephen School. Special thanks to the doctors and staff of St. Charles Mercy Hospital ICU.
