Emily J. Becker, 88, of Oregon, OH passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2005 in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. She was born in Toledo, OH on August 1, 1917 to Adolph and Mary (Hertsher) Volz. Through the years, Emily had been employed by LOF, Gulf Refinery, and Russell Stover at the Woodville Mall. She was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Emily was a former First Lady of Oregon while her husband Carl was mayor. She also was a volunteer at the Lutheran Old Folks Home. Surviving are her son, David (Corky) Becker; daughter, Kristina (Terry) Obliske; granddaughter, Beth Becker. Emily was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Carl. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in First St. John Lutheran Church on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
