Emma J. Bowland, 90, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010 in her home. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 7, 1920 to Valentine and Harriet (Uhler) Tholl. She married Hugh A. Bowland on June 30, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Emma was employed as a bookbinder at Ohio Lithographing for 15 years before retiring in 1974. She was an active member of the Perrysburg Senior Center and Faith United Methodist Church. Emma enjoyed playing bingo and was a Cash Explosion winner in 2008. She was the greatest mother and grandmother. Emma was a great cook and her door was always open to her many friends and visitors. Surviving are her children, Rev. Dr. Hugh (Mary Jane) Bowland, Robert F. (Debra) Bowland, Ruth A. (Frank) Nagy, Helen (Phil) Clark, Kathy (James) Heldt; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 8 great great grand children. Emma was also preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Martin and Mae Bates; brothers, William, John, Robert and James Tholl. Friends and family may visit at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Sunday, October 31, from 1-5 p.m. and Monday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery.
