Eric G. Poore, 69, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on May 4, 2016 at St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on October 14, 1946 to Roy and Juanita (Pierce) Poore. After graduating from Whitmer High School in 1966, Eric served in the U.S. Navy, where he advanced to rate of E-5 on the USS Calcaterra. For over 20 years, Eric had a career as an Operating Engineer. He had a hand in the early construction phases of many buildings, roads and other landmarks throughout NW Ohio, including Maumee Bay State Park. In his free time, Eric enjoyed bass fishing, ballroom dancing and finding treasures at auctions and garage sales. Surviving is his daughter, Shelly Poore; mother, Juanita Pierce; and half brother, Kenneth Myers. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road from 6:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 pm.
