Eric Jerry Taylor, 81 of Toledo, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 in his residence. Jerry was born in Briceville, TN on June 30, 1935 to Doc. A. and Edra Edith (McCoy) Taylor. Jerry had retired from General Motors Powertrain after 30 years of employment. In his spare time Jerry loved to fish. Surviving are his wife, Oma; children, Misty Miles, Edra, Laura, Kelly Taylor, Barry, Betty, Blake Aslinger; grandchildren, Lia, Carla (Chad), Robbie (Kyle), Daniel, Ciara, McKinley, Steve, Britanie, Fred, Jessica, Jacob, Julieann, Diana, Brittany, Brooke, 17 great grandchildren; 6 sisters. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Brian Aslinger; 2 sisters. Visitation will be held on Sunday at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road from 2-8 pm. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday at Hatmaker Funeral Home, 503 S. Main St., Rocky Top, TN (formerly known as Lake City) and where his funeral service will be held on Wednesday. Interment will follow in The Circle Cemetery. "Gone Fishing"
