Erin Elizabeth Lachey, 46, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center on Monday, August 10, 2026. She was born on May 24, 1980, in Toledo, Ohio, to Thomas and Sharon (Martin) Szuch.

Erin was a proud graduate of Genoa High School, Class of 1998, where she was a cheerleader and made many lasting memories and friendships. Her love of cheerleading continued throughout her life as she became a cheerleading coach in both Northwood and Oak Harbor. She loved encouraging others and sharing her enthusiasm with the young people she coached.

On October 3, 2015, Erin married Jared Lachey. She cherished her family and the time she spent surrounded by the people she loved. She was happiest when she was with family and friends, whether gathered together for a celebration or simply enjoying time together.

Erin had a heart for helping people. She was the person you could call when you needed something, and she would do whatever she could to help. It did not matter how busy she was or how much was being asked of her. Erin would find a way. She gave her time, energy, and heart freely and never expected anything in return.

She was always there to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or make sure someone knew they were not alone. Helping others was simply part of who Erin was. She touched the lives of so many people through her kindness and generosity, both within her family and throughout the Genoa community.

Erin was also known for her big personality and her ability to make people laugh. She was the life of the party and brought fun and energy wherever she went. She loved being around people and had a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Erin will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jared Lachey; daughter, Nixon Lachey; step-children, Kendall and Kingston Lachey; her father, Thomas Szuch; her siblings, Erika (Brian) Ager and Thomas (Jill) Szuch; her nieces and nephews, Logan, Zoe, Odin, Bradyn, Ashley, Haley, and Ella; and many other extended family members, dear friends, and members of the community whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Sharon Szuch.

Erin leaves behind a beautiful legacy in the people she helped and the lives she touched. She was the one who showed up, the one who would drop everything to help, and the one who made sure the people around her were taken care of. Her kindness, generosity, laughter, and unforgettable spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

A gathering for friends and family will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Erin's honor to the Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation.

Erin will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
