Erma "Jean" Grimmett, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and savior on Saturday, June 18, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born on June 3, 1933 in Elliston Ridge, West Virginia to Velmer and Beulah (Basham) Lawson. She married Charles Grimmett on December 30, 1967. Jean was a member of Neighborhood Freewill Baptist Church where she was a member of the ladies auxiliary and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed reading and was acknowledged as a top ten reader in Lucas County. Jean also enjoyed working puzzle books, but what was most important to her was her family.
Jean is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles; son, Ronald (Tina) Cochran; grandchildren, Lil Ron "Squeak" Cochran, Rhonda Lynn (Matthew) Kowalski; great-grandchildren, Leah May Cochran, Sawyer Nikolai Kowalski; special friends, Tina Taylor, Rick Show, April Cochran, Kayla Rardin and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father; 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 2 – 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Mercy St. Vincent Auxiliary Volunteer Knitters or Cherry Street Mission.
