Ervin Edward Baker
Ervin E. Baker, 93, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 4, 1922 in Plainwell, Michigan to William and Elizabeth (Christiansen). On November 17, 1945, he married Martha Underwood. Ervin was a US Army Veteran who served in World War II in the European Theater and received a Purple Heart. He worked as a plumber for over 50 years and served as Northwood Fire Chief for 15 years.
Ervin is survived by his children, Gail Baker-Cook and Troy (Christine) Baker; grandchildren, Donald Buck Jr., Elizabeth Buck, Marta (Tim) Stoepfel, Erin Buck; great grandchildren, Bridget, Brynn, Dakota, Austin, Samuel, and Skylar; great-great grandchildren, Colton and Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha; daughter, Christine Como; sister, Virginia Hines; and brothers, Donald and Murr Baker.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am.
