Estefania Quintanilla, 87, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Estefania was born in San Felipe, Mexico on December 26, 1928 to Juan and Antonia Duran. In 1946, she married Ramiro Quintanilla and enjoyed 40 years of marriage. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church for over 40 years. Estefania will be remembered for her generosity and cooking skills; especially her tamales and chicken mole. Her true passion was spending time with her family.
Estefania is survived by her children, Antonio (Maria ) Quintanilla, Frances (Raul) Hinojosa, Juan (Roberta) Quintanilla, Raymond (Angie) Quintanilla, Gabriel (Cindy) Quintanilla, Estella Quintanilla, Maria ( Timothy Drewyer) Duran, and Carlos Quintanilla; daughter-in-law, Diane Quintanilla; 24 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Marcelina, Bonefacio, and Dorotea. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ramiro; children, Refugio Quintanilla, Manuel Quintanilla, and Rosalina Garcia; grandson, Ray Quintanilla; and sister, Dolores Carmona.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A scripture service will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10:00 am with prayers in the funeral home and proceed to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 738 South St. Clair Street, Toledo, for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
