Esther E. Ames, 94, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away August 5, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 5, 1923 to Frederick and Helen (Meier) Meyer. Esther graduated from Clay High School. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, the Farm Bureau, the Ladies Aid and KumDoubleKlub. Esther taught Sunday School and was an Assistant Superintendent for many years. She was a godmother to seven and enjoyed farming with her late husband, "Hermie" and bowling.
Surviving is her daughter, Karensue (Dennis) Kelley; granddaughters, Jennifer (Bill) Johnson and Stephanie (Ron) Blausey; grandson (Brent (Jessi) Kelley; great-granddaughters, Autumn (Randy) Shaneck; Holly Johnson, Hannah Blausey and Jordan Blausey; great-grandson, David Johnson and Benjamin Kelley. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Ames; parents; sister, Rose Clark; and brother, Calvin Meyer.
Friends may visit at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 20 S. Yondota Road, Curtice, Ohio, on Wednesday, August 9 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Her family would like to thank the employees of Hospice and Pastor Bob Noble for their special care.
