Esther M. Schurfeld, 81, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2005, at Hospice of Toledo. Esther was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 9, 1924, and was the daughter of Lucy M. (Dazley) Kunsman. She was preceded in death by her mother; first husband, William Schudel and her second husband, Red Schurfeld. Esther was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Mayfair Plymouth Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school. She will be missed by daughters, Sharon M. (William) Alexander, Linda A. (Patrick) McMahon; stepson, Richard E. Schurfeld; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. where family and friends may visit 2 hours prior to her service. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Esther's memory are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo.
