Ethan Brown Remley, 83, of Perrysburg , Ohio , passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 while under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Ethan was born November 12, 1934 in Meadow Bridge , West Virginia . He was 1 of 7 children and later moved to Toledo , Ohio . He served his country in the US Army and was honorably discharged. He was married to Sandy Middaugh (Beaver) and had 2 children, Rex and Roxane. He worked at the Toledo Blade for over 40 years before his retirement. Ethan was actively involved at the Rossford United Methodist Church and in his community. On June 26, 1977 he married Joanna (Manuli) who preceded him in death. Together they lived with his step-son Rick Brandeberry. Ethan took pride in serving on the Lake High School Board of Education and other community boards. In his retirement he continued to work in sales in the jewelry and real estate business, but his true passion was singing and enjoyed being a member of the Choraliers. Ethan had a kind soul who was very gracious and giving to all who surrounded him and will truly be missed by all. Ethan is survived by his by his son, Rex (Trudy) Remley; daughter, Roxane Remley; step-son, Rick Brandeberry; grandchildren, Curtis (Natalie), Craig (Angelina), Adam, Eric (Nicole), Joey, Elizabeth (Paul), Rachel (Glen); 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nova Patterson, Rae Maticia, John Remley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 34 years, Joanna; brothers, James, Charles; and infant sibling. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 2-8 pm. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery . In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
