Ethel M. Hart, 87, of Oregon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in her daughter Roxy's home, where she resided for 22 years, on December 19, 2008. Ethel was born in Rock Island, IL on August 18, 1921, to Aquilla and Myrtle (Strawhacker) Corwin. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Hecke. Ethel was happily re-married to Otis Hart in 1956 until his passing in 1986. She was employed as a nurse's aid for 13 years at the Lutheran Old Folks Home. Ethel loved the First Baptist Church of Oregon and was a member for 52 years. Surviving are her daughters, Shirley Simmons, Verna (Michael) Nagy, Carolyn Ossewaarde and Roxy (Ronald) Gwin; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grand-children and 3 great-great-grand-children and soon to be 4. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers and sisters. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Sunday from 2 until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Oregon or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
