Obituary

Ethel D. (Swope) Metzker, 90, of Oregon, OH passed away August 12, 2004 in her home. She was born in Curtice, OH on March 13, 1914 to William and Cora (Gillmore) Amsler. Ethel was a homemaker most of her life dedicating her time to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was employed by Foodtown for 10 years as a cashier and a member of Bono Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Ray (Carol) and Ronald (Beverly) Swope; stepsons, Donald (Lola) and Larry (Linda) Metzker; stepdaughter, Linda L. Metzker; sisters, Violet Driftmeyer and Bonnie Scharlow; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Ethel was preceded in death by her husbands, Forest Swope and Edward Metzker; brothers, Lloyd, Fred and Ray Amsler; sisters, Ella Zunk and Bessie Dehn. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Sunday, August 15, 2004 from 2 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11a.m. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor, OH. Expressions of sympathy in Ethel's memory can be made to Heartland Hospice or Bono Baptist Church.
