Eugene T. Zimmerman, 61, of Toledo, OH passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2007 in his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Eugene was born in Toledo on April 29, 1946 to Gene and Helen (Thompson) Zimmerman.  He served in the U.S. Navy during Viet Nam and was employed with Conrail for 29 years as a trackman retiring in 1998.  Eugene loved radio controlled car racing, watching NASCAR and woodworking in his spare time.   Surviving are his loving wife of 36 years, Helen K.; daughter, Shawn M. Zimmerman; sons, David E. (Pamela) and Jason J. (Melissa) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Jason Jr., Justin, Joshua, Amanda Kay, Olivia, Amanda and Shane and beloved  buddy, Bronx.  He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father.   Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. with a memorial service conducted at 7 pm.
