Eunice I. Brillhart, 106, passed away on August 12, 2012 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. She was born on January 21, 1906 to John and Emma (Flexer) Laipply. Eunice worked for a short time for Detroit Diesel during WWII and was one of only 4 women ever to be hired at the Detroit Defense Plant. She truly enjoyed living in the Assisted Living at Genoa Retirement Village for the past 4 years where she loved to play WII bowling, write and receive emails, and participate in daily activities. Her family was truly her greatest joy and accomplishment.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Thomas (Barbara) Brillhart; grandchildren, Debbie (Tom) McNamee, Cheryl Harwick, John (Julie) Harwick, Wendy (Mark) Davis, Dawn (Jerry) Tovar; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marion; daughter, Phyllis Harwick; grandson, Tom Brillhart; brothers, Howard, Russel, and Aaron Laipply.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Williston Cemetery in Allen Township. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Saunder and the nursing staffs of Mercy St. Charles Hospital and Genoa Assisted living for their compassionate care.
