Obituary

Eunice Mae Whitney, 86, of Bowling Green, known for her unwavering kindness, patience, and generosity, passed away July 13th, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Eunice was born June 20, 1923, in Oregon Township, to parents W.L. and Mildred Albertson. She is preceded in death by husband, E. Bruce Whitney and survived by sisters, June Vogtsberger, Bowling Green, and Jean Warns, Walbridge; sister-in-law, Betty Stine, Oregon, and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Eunice graduated from Clay High School in 1941 and Davis Business College in 1943. She was employed at Shaw Kendell and then Glidden Paints, both of Toledo, for twenty-five and nineteen years, respectively. A longtime resident of Grasser St., Oregon, Eunice moved to Bowling Green in 1997. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, Oregon, and volunteered at Wood County Hospital and for Wheeled Meals. She enjoyed summers at Devil's Lake, Michigan, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. Graveside services will take place Saturday, July 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Ave. Extension, Oregon. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Avenue Extension., Oregon, OH 43616 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
