Evan L. VonEwegen was called home by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Evan was born on August 26, 1986 to Jack VonEwegen and Zulma Ramos-Rodriguez. He was a graduate of Perrysburg High School and attended BGSU where he studied International Marketing. Following a motorcycle accident in January 2012, Evan had been struggling with a painful recovery of paralysis of his right arm. The family would like to acknowledge the medical staff at U of M, especially Dr. L. Yang and M. Popadich for their expertise and support for Evan. Evan will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his kind and loving nature, his generosity, and his devotion to his family and friends. He was very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage and loved scuba diving in the ocean near Rincon. He made his mom happy by playing the violin. He was the goalie on his high school hockey team as well as several travel teams in Ohio and Michigan.
In addition to his parents, Evan is survived by his sister, Leah VonEwegen of Florida; grandparents, Luis and Nereida Ramos of Puerto Rico and Grace VonEwegen of Toledo. He will be greatly missed by his faithful canine companion, Rocky. Evan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger VonEwegen.
Friends are cordially invited to join the family for a Memorial Service to celebrate Evan'™s life at First Congregational Church, 2315 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH on Thursday, May 9th at 4:30 p.m. Those wishing to make a monetary donation to honor Evan are asked to consider Cedar Creek Church-Life Support Ministry. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
