Evelyn J. Bartlett, 71, passed away September 28, 2009, in Clermont, Florida. Evelyn was born June 20, 1938, in Perrysburg, Ohio to Alvin and Anna (Reihm) Sprague. Evelyn was a highly respected nurse educator and nursing leader in the Toledo community. In the 1960's she was an instructor at the former Riverside Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio. In the 1970's she was the Director of Riverside Hospital's Infection Control and Quality Assurance Programs. She advanced to the position of Assistant Director for Patient Services. While in Toledo Evelyn was a Nursing Instructor at Owens Community College. In the 1980's, after leaving Toledo, she was the Director of Quality/Utilization/Improvement/Risk Management in Florida and Texas. In the 1990's, Evelyn was the Director of Quality Assurance at the prestigious Oschner Health System. Evelyn was the president of the local Ohio Nurses Association. She was a member of the National League of Nursing, the Ohio Hospital Association and Florida Hospital Association. She was a charter member of the Toledo Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau-Nursing Honorary Society and a member of Kappa Delta Pi-Honorary Education Society. Evelyn is survived by her son, Robert Arquette; daughter, Kadie (Steve) Senesi; grandchildren, Kara, Tim and Annette Senesi; brothers, Gordon (Sharon) Sprague and Franklin Sprague; sister, Beverly Gillaspie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelsey; parents; and son, Matthew Arquette. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio, on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Riverside Hospital Auxiliary Nursing Scholarship Fund, in care of the University of Toledo Foundation or the South Lake Art League in Clermont Florida.
