Evelyn J. Beaudry, 94, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 7, 2018 in her residence. Evelyn was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 7, 1923 to Swedish immigrants, Gustave and Hanna (Peterson) Ovall. She was the fifth youngest of seventeen children. Evie as her siblings called her, was a devoted, loving, and caring mother, and grandmother. She was always ready to baby-sit a grandchild, even if it meant traveling to Lima, Ohio. Evelyn always looked forward to family get togethers, where she would showcase her cooking and baking skills, especially her lemon meringue pies. Many times you could find homemade cookies between your doors, left by Evelyn. When you walked in Evelyn's house you would be offered a homemade dessert, a sandwich, and tea always on the stove, a person never left hungry. Always concerned about what everyone else was doing, Evelyn never complained. Evelyn had a great sense of humor and loved a good ribald joke. When not washing her windows on sunny days you could find her driving around in her little yellow car, picking up Saturday morning donuts or a pack of fags (cigarettes) from the carryout. Evelyn was grateful for her family and friends who would often hear, "Yepper" was her way of acknowledging you were right and her way of saying thank you was "Tack sa mycket", thank you very much in Swedish.
Surviving are her children, Beverly A. Beaudry, Nancy J. (Bob Moore) King, Joyce M. (Butch) Greene, Deb L. (Ed) Hulce, Randy L. Beaudry, Candy (Denny) Gill; sister, Betty Dick; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; parents; son, Lawrence C. and 15 siblings.
