Evelyn G. Giles, 91, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Evelyn was born in Toledo on October 25, 1922 to Herman and Dora (Schinharl) Lang. On August 15, 1947, she married William Giles. In 1984 Evelyn retired from the Oregon Schools, where she had been employed as a cafeteria worker for 27 years. Evelyn and Bill were avid travelers and visited 48 of the 50 states, enjoyed international destinations, and spent 30 winters in Florida. Surviving are her husband, William; daughters, Nancy (Bill) Wilson, Cathy (Rick) Hecklinger and Peggy (Louie) Soltis; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Vogelpohl and brothers, Donald and Melvin Lang. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 11:00 am until time of memorial service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Johns Cemetery.
