Obituary

Evelyn Ina Moenter, 75, of Oregon, OH, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2004, at Medical College of Ohio. She was born in Oak Harbor, Ohio, on November 14, 1928, to Gustav and Mamie (Meinke) Wargowsky. She was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School and Case Western Reserve University. Evelyn began her career as a medical assistant at the William Roche Hospital and served 15 years in the Ophthalmology Department in the electrophysiology lab at the Medical College of Ohio before her retirement. Mrs. Moenter grew up in the St. John's Lutheran congregation in Oak Harbor and enjoyed church choir and Women of the Church activities at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Toledo. She had been an advisor for 20 years for the Pots & Pins 4-H Club and had received the Ohio State 4-H Alumni Recognition Award in 1977. Evelyn was active in the Lucas County clothing, nutrition and public speaking programs, member of PEO, Chapter AL,where she served as an officer on the local and state level. Mrs. Moenter was a member and past president of Samagama, a long time board member of the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston, member of the Lutheran Home Society of Toledo and the Oregon CCL. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling, visiting every continent, except Antarctica. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Elmer; daughter, Sandy (Tom) Huss; son, Barry (Ramona) Moenter; grandchildren, Katie Huss, Eric and Sarah Moenter; sisters, Ruth (Mrs. Elmer) Hartman and Esther (Mrs. Carl) Schlea; brothers, Judge Donald (Faith) Wargowsky and Richard (Sandra) Wargowsky; step sister, Audrey (Mrs. Lloyd) Dayton and step brother, Gerald (Marilyn) Hallier. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kevin Moenter; step mother, Bertha Wargowsky; brother, Lloyd Wargowsky and sister, Opal Martin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Contributions in Evelyn's memory can be made to Luther Home of Mercy, Lutheran Home Society of Toledo or the Ohio 4-H Center Campaign. Visitation: Visitation Times 2-9 Tuesday Coy Road Chapel
