Faustine Ruth (Elling) Wilson, 96, died at her home in Northwood, Ohio on February 10, 2016. Born in East Toledo on January 8, 1920, to Ruth (Walker) Elling and Paul Edmund Elling, she was the oldest of 7 children. Faustine spent her early years in Wyoming and Colorado, returning to Toledo, where she attended Olney High School. In 1937, she married Woodrow Willis Wilson. She delighted in her role of mother and grandmother and joyfully welcomed each new family member. Faustine enjoyed genealogy, art, and horticulture, and was loved and respected by her long-time employer and friends at Lakewood Greenhouse. A natural storyteller, she always had a ready anecdote to share about the family history. Her generosity and thoughtfulness were trademark, and she met life's challenges with calm resolve. Faustine had a pioneer, can-do spirit, combined with ingenuity and love. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Bolan (Robert) of Youngstown; a son, Roy A. Wilson (Kathleen) of New Bedford, MA; sisters Mary Trostel, Eileen Suplica, and Janice Livingston; grandchildren Anne Mueller (David), Sarah Floor, Elizabeth Bolan, Robert Bolan (Marsha), Theresa Rider (Robert), Thomas Bolan (Ruth), Michael Bolan, Salvador Bolan, Catherine Bolan, Maria Piliero (Dan), Rosemary Miller (Robert Wagner), Glen Fowler (Christy), Chris Burdick, Matthew Burdick and Eileen Burdick. She also leaves 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her step-mother, Lillian Elling; her husband, Bill; son, Willard Dennis Wilson; great-grand daughter, Jennifer Ann Floor; great-great grand daughter Addilyn Rose; and brothers, Paul Elling, Frank Elling, and Robert Elling. Family and friends may call at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio, on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. A reception will follow and the internment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park. Contributions may be directed to Epiphany of the Lord Parish. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
